**Students can purchase a fall athletic pass from the Attendance Center for $5. This pass will allow an EAWR student into all fall home games for $5 (football/volleyball) except for IHSA contests. All fall athletes and band members get into fall events for free.

**Today will be the last day for the 2 pm dismissal. We will dismiss next week at regular time 2:30 pm.

**The senior mentors would like feedback from the freshmen regarding the first 2 weeks of school and also gather some information about other topics you would like to discuss at freshman mentor meetings. All freshmen received a link in their emails to take a short survey following announcements today that should only take a few minutes for them to complete.

**Senior Mentors--since the 1st Monday in September is a holiday we will do our follow up mentor meeting Monday the 25th in room E121. Teacher please allow senior mentors to leave during academic lab that day to go to room E121.

**If you are interested in joining student council, your application must be submitted by today at 2pm. The application was emailed to you by Mrs. Robinson last week.

**Boys Golf and Girls Tennis are still in need of players. If anyone would like to participate, please come see Mr. Beatty in the Attendance Center.

**Esports is starting! If you have interest in joining the team and participating competitively in some of your favorite titles check your email for a google form link, the Esports discord, or grab a handout from the CCC.

**There will be a meeting at 2:30 on Wednesday, August 27th in the College and Career Center for seniors interested in running for Harvest Queen. Candidates must be a senior and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher to be eligible to run. The meeting is mandatory, however, if you are in work-study or have another conflict please, contact Mrs. Robinson prior to the meeting.

**The East Alton Soapbox Derby Saturday, September 6th If you would like to volunteer please sign up in the Attendance Center. Volunteers need to arrive at 9:00 am and the event will be over around 2 pm. All volunteers need to meet at the check station by Tropical Sno in East Alton (by the old EA Shop n Save). If you volunteer, please wear an Oiler shirt or another appropriate t-shirt and be sure to sign in and sign out. Again the sign up is in the Attendance Center.

**MAP ELA Testing will be Tuesday, August 26th during 3rd Hour - Academic Lab for all 9th, 10th & 11th graders. All seniors will report to the Auditorium during this time for a presentation from Guidance & Mrs. Robinson. MAP Math Testing will be Wednesday, August 27th during 2nd Hour and Academic Lab will be tied to second hour for this day for all 9th, 10th & 11th graders. Tuesday, August 19th

**There is a spirit club meeting and poster party from 6-8 pm in the East Building Courtyard today. All seniors are invited to attend. Mrs. Robinson will provide pizza for the meeting.

**Starting this week we'll be counting tardies toward the cafe/clothing room incentive. If a student has 2 or less tardies in a week they will be able to use the cafe/clothing room the following week with the appropriate pass. If a student has more than 2 tardies privileges are lost for the following week to the cafe/clothing room. In terms of the incentive this will start over every week. Students will still be assigned to lunch detention, ISS, etc based on tardies the cafe/clothing room is an incentive for during the day.

**Reminder to Students - If you are interested in receiving food to take home for the weekends, please complete the form, no later than Thursdays @ 3pm. THIS IS A WEEKLY PROCESS. Any questions, please email Mrs. Kinkel at nkinkel@eawr.org.

Year long athletic passes are on sale and the pass will allow the holder to get in all home athletic events for the 2024-2025 school year minus IHSA postseason events. Passes are $30 for adults and $20 for non-EAWR children under 18. EAWR students can purchase a $5 home athletic pass for fall in the Attendance Center. The year long passes can be purchased at the first home volleyball game, the first home football game, or from the Attendance Center.
