We are aware of concerns being shared regarding a student health matter at EAWR. We want to reassure families that the District is actively addressing the situation in coordination with our school nurse, administration, custodial staff, guidance services, and the local health department.
Out of respect for student privacy, we cannot share individual details. However, we want families to know that appropriate precautions are in place, impacted areas are being addressed, and custodial cleaning protocols have been reinforced. The District is also offering direct support to families involved, consistent with public health guidance.
The health department has advised that the appropriate response in situations like this is continued outreach, support, and practical interventions—not exclusion or discipline of students. The District is following that guidance while taking reasonable steps to protect the school environment.
We understand that situations like this can cause anxiety. Please know that student safety, dignity, and well-being remain our top priorities. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued partnership with EAWR.

**Saturday Scholars will meet in the parking lot by the bus garage at 12:45pm on Saturday to ride the bus for our first lecture series at Edwardsville High School. If you know that you will not be there, please let Mrs. Clendenny know.

Congratulations to KayLynn Buttry on breaking the single season scoring record of 508 points. Tonight she scored 20 points and now has 520 points on the season.

Oiler Cheer is off to IHSA State! They performed for the school today for a formal send off in Memorial Gym. We know they are going to do Great Things!
Thursday, February 5th
**The cheer send off for IHSA State will be today in the Memorial Gym. All students will STAY in their academic lab until 10:55 and then at 10:55 teachers will escort classes to watch the cheer state routine performance before they leave to go to Bloomington. Seniors and juniors will sit on the floor bleachers on the east side. Sophomores will sit in the upper two sections ( A and B), and freshmen will sit in the upper sections three and four (C and D).

The Shootout is this Saturday in Memorial Gym! Vincent Johnson will be on site for the later games as Memorial Gym and Altamont's gym are in his book Illustrious, The Best High School Gyms in Illinois. Tickets are $10 at the door or may be purchased ahead of time on GoFan.
