Wednesday, September 21, 2022 **Coronation will be held at 7:30 pm this Saturday. This event is open to the public and all tickets must be purchased at the door for $5. Following Coronation there will be a short photo session in the East Building Courtyard. The Homecoming Dance is after the Coronation this Saturday from 9-11 pm. The dance will be held in the Courtyard and students will enter through door E2. The cost for the dance is $5 paid at the door. **There is a volunteer opportunity this Saturday at East Alton First United Methodist Church from 9-11 am. Volunteers will help clean up the grounds of the church. The church is located across from Eastwood School. Sign up in the Attendance Center. **There will be a softball meeting for any girls that are interested in playing softball this spring during academic Lab today in Mr. Beachum's room. **There will be a spirit club meeting today during academic in room E121 for all Spirit club members. **Attention students, teachers and staff: Wednesday, September 28th is National See You at the Pole Day. This is an opportunity to spend a few minutes of fellowship with each other. Schools around the country will be doing the same. If interested, join us at the flagpole outside the Memorial Gym at 7:40 am on Wednesday, the 28th. For questions, please email Ms. Mueller. **Spooky Season is coming up and the school newspaper, The Oiler Times, wants to hear from you! There is a survey in your email that asks your favorite Halloween themed movie and favorite scary movie! You have until Sunday night at midnight to send in your responses! **East Alton recently held the 27th annual Soap Box Race for Fun. If you have participated in this event in the past and have a photo of yourself doing so, the school newspaper, The Oiler Times, would love to publish one of your memories! There is a survey in your email where you can submit your photo! All photos are due no later than this Sunday night at midnight.

Peer Leadership is a group of students who plan school-wide campaigns with the help of Chestnut Healthcare Systems that focus on mental and physical health and well-being. EAWR had the pleasure of having Wendell Flanders and his family attend the football game Friday night against Salem. Mr Flanders is a 1949 graduate of EAWR. He is also a Veteran of the United States Marines and was a member of the Oiler Football Team.
