The Riverbend CEO Program was at EAWR today. They spoke with Mrs. Robinson about the role of a principal and shared some of their post high school plans.




We have two cancellations to announce for Monday, Aug. 26.



Tonight's boys soccer games in the John Martin Tournament have been delayed until 7:30. The other games scheduled for this afternoon have a high probability of being cancelled based on wet bulb measurements that Mr. Sutton will be taking this afternoon. Stay tuned!


Monday, August 26th
**Students can purchase a fall athletic pass from the Attendance Center for $5. This pass will allow an EAWR student into all fall home games for $5 (football/volleyball) except for IHSA contests. All fall athletes and band members get into fall events for free.
**The East Alton Soapbox Derby is Saturday, September 7th. If you would like to volunteer please sign up in the Attendance Center. Volunteers need to arrive at 9:00 am and the event will be over around 2 pm. All volunteers need to meet at the check station by Tropical Sno in East Alton (by the old EA Shop n Save). If you volunteer, please wear an Oiler shirt or another appropriate t-shirt and be sure to sign in and sign out. Again the sign up is in the Attendance Center.
**The senior cap and gown assembly is this Thursday during academic lab in the auditorium. All seniors need to attend. If a senior can't attend please see Mrs Hayes in the guidance office following the assembly for an order packet.
**Attention junior & senior students in need of community service hours. The Oiler express cafe is looking for help before school. The requirements include good attendance & the ability to be at school by 7:30 (bus riders & early bird students cannot do this). You will earn 30 min for each day worked and will be expected to come every morning. If interested, please see Mrs Kinkel.
**There will be a spirit club meeting during academic lab on Wednesday in room E121 to discuss the first pep assembly and fall sports. Teachers, the roster for the spirit club is in your meetings folder in Google Drive.
**There will be a senior mentor meeting during academic lab today in room E121 to discuss the first freshman mentor meeting. Teachers, the roster for the senior mentors is in your meetings folder in Google Drive.
**The EAWR Art Club will have its first meeting on today during Academic Lab in the Art Room, M-009. Any student interested in joining the Art Club should email Mr. James ASAP so he can add you to the roster. You do not have to be enrolled in an art class to join the Club.
**Lifetouch will be here on September 3 to take photos of all students, faculty, and staff. Seniors, even if you plan to use a senior photo from an outside photographer for the yearbook, you need to get your photo taken by Lifetouch on picture day so that you will appear in the Class of 2025 composite photo.

Members of the Wood River Business Alliance, local leaders, and school representatives were at EAWR today for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new tennis/pickleball courts at East Alton-Wood River High School. The new courts are a great addition to our campus.
