Wednesday, January 29
**Attention Juniors and Seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or above: You should have received an invitation via your school email to join the National Honor Society Google Classroom page. There you will find information regarding a meeting to be held this today during academic lab in the CCC, where we will discuss how to fill out an application to join NHS. If you are interested in joining, please check your school email and join the google classroom page. For questions, see Ms. Mueller in E122. Current members inducted last year do not need to reapply or attend the meeting.
**Seniors: Friday is a half day and we are sponsoring a community service opportunity for seniors only. We will be making valentines for the local nursing and assisted living homes from 11:30-2:30. We will provide pizza for lunch and all supplies. If you are interested in earning 3 hours of community service please sign up in the google doc shared by Mrs. Robinson.
**EAWR Student Council is participating in a pajama drive between now and our District Convention on February 12th. We are looking for donations of new pajamas size newborn to children's XL. If you have a donation, please get them to Mrs. Timmins or Mr. Daniels by the 12th.
**Seniors: Saturday, February 8th EAWR is hosting a 14 team basketball shootout. Seniors can earn up to 12 hours for volunteering from 9:30 am-9:30 pm. Volunteers will be helping with different tasks such as concessions, helping after prom with their fundraiser, hospitality room, etc. If you can't volunteer the whole time, please note that next to your name when you sign up in the google doc shared by Mrs. Robinson. If you can only work a portion of that day please note the times next to your name.
**Attention Peer Leaders: Our next meeting is Monday, February 3rd in E121 during academic lab. We will have a guest speaker presentation on mental health and there will be a gift card raffle for those who attend. See you there!
**Tomorrow night is the FAFSA Completion Night for seniors. If you have not filled out the FAFSA, please plan to attend at 6:00 in the CCC. Bring a parent/guardian, a chromebook, and your financial information.
**Big Sisters is excited to announce this year’s King of Hearts candidates: Josiah Daniels, Claydon Cathorall, Brayden Elledge, Michael Noeltner, and Tyler Ragusa. Voting will begin soon! Look for your favorite candidate’s box in the East Building Courtyard and vote by donating money in the box. The King will be crowned at the King’s Dance Saturday March 8th in the courtyard.

**If you currently have a parking spot but do not drive to school, please stop by the Main Office or reply to this email to let Mrs. Guthrie know. If you park in the Rec lot, you must have a parking tag from the Main Office and you must park only in the row facing the Memorial Gym. If you park anywhere else in the Rec lot, you will be towed. You are also allowed to park in the lot that leads to the Roundhouse across from the tennis courts but you also need a parking pass for this lot. If you have any questions, please come see Mrs. Guthrie in the Main Office.


Congratulations to our All-Conference Competitive Cheerleader Kayley Plank. The team performed today at the Conference Tournament in Waterloo.




The Teen Mental Health First Aid Leaders would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Centerstone representatives, Elle and Rose, for their insightful presentation on Self-Care to all PE & Health classes! We are excited to announce that Elle and Rose will be returning each month to present on a variety of topics related to mental health and well-being. EAWR is proud to partner with Centerstone and looks forward to continuing this collaboration to better support and serve our students.

**Big Sisters: We have a meeting today during academic lab in room M205. We will sign up to work the bake sales and vote for the King of Hearts candidates.


Oilers Scholastic Bowl at their home match yesterday with Althoff, Belleville West and Granite City. These group, coached by Mrs. Miller, works extremely hard and we are very proud of how well they represent OilerNation!

Varsity girls basketball vs. Litchfield


This past weekend Connor Strebler and Abigail Hersman participated in the SIUE Bi-State Honor Band Festival. Both students auditioned for this event and were chosen from hundreds of auditions to be in the festival's Red Concert Band. We are very proud of both of them.

**Track season has begun and is held after school in the East Building. Registration is open on SnapManage. Students must have their parent go to EAWR.net and click Athletic Registration.
