Summer improvements continue across the EAWR campus as we prepare to welcome students back on August 17. Several projects are complete, while others have entered their final stages.
EAST BUILDING ENTRYWAYS
All East Building entryways have now been painted, giving these high-traffic areas a cleaner and more consistent appearance.
SOUTH BUILDING
The new epoxy flooring has been poured throughout the South Building and will be sealed next. The epoxy provides a durable, long-lasting surface designed for the daily demands of our Career and Technical Education spaces.
We also made it a priority to preserve an important part of EAWR’s history. The original “Vocational Building Trades” floor logo was recreated and installed within the new epoxy flooring, maintaining the look and character of the original design.
Installation of new hallway lighting will begin soon, and new walk-off carpeting will be added at each entrance as the project is completed.
STUDENT SERVICES CENTER
The Student Services offices have been completely remodeled by our district maintenance staff. The extensive in-house project includes:
New office spaces and layout
New lighting and ceilings
New flooring and doors
New cabinetry
A dedicated student and family check-in station
New furniture will also be installed in each office. Final finish work is now being completed. This updated area will provide students and families with a more functional, welcoming and organized location to access counseling and student support services.
AUDITORIUM
The auditorium renovation continues to make significant progress. The new epoxy flooring and sound system have been completed, and the walls have been repainted.
Remaining work includes the installation of new seats, illuminated signage/ graphics, walk-off carpeting, new floor-level lighting and new house lighting. Installation of the house lighting is scheduled to begin next week. These improvements will provide an updated setting for student performances, school assemblies and community events.
MAIN BUILDING
The basement hallway ceilings, walls and lockers in the Main Building have also been painted, helping refresh and brighten another heavily used area of the campus. New hallway lights throughout the basement have been installed.
All of these summer projects remain on schedule for completion before students return on opening day, August 17.
We appreciate the work of our district maintenance staff and project partners who continue to move these improvements forward. Their work is helping us provide safer, more functional and more welcoming spaces for our students, staff and community.
