EAWR Parent Survey Shows Strong Community Confidence and High Satisfaction

Results from the 2025–2026 EAWR Oiler Pride Parent Survey show strong levels of satisfaction among families who participated in the survey and continued confidence in the school’s learning environment, staff support, and communication.

Survey data indicate that 93% of parents who responded to the survey report being satisfied with their family’s overall experience at EAWR, reflecting positive perceptions across multiple areas of the school experience.

Parents who completed the survey identified several key strengths:

  • 96% say EAWR is a safe and welcoming place for their child

  • 95% believe staff genuinely care about student success

  • 93% report communication from the school is effective

  • 92% believe the quality of education meets or exceeds expectations

These responses reflect strong confidence among participating families in the school’s overall environment and academic programming.

Where Oiler Pride Is Strongest

Survey respondents reported that their strongest sources of pride in EAWR include:

  • Student achievements (73%)

  • Athletics and team spirit (55%)

  • Fine arts programs (36%)

  • Academic success and college readiness (36%)

  • School traditions such as Homecoming, rallies, and spirit events (36%)

Parents who responded also indicated the events they are most likely to attend:

  • Athletics (82%)

  • Performing arts events (64%)

  • Academic recognition events (55%)

  • Parent meetings and information sessions (55%)

  • Community events hosted by the school (55%)

Understanding Barriers to Participation

The survey also provided insight into factors that sometimes limit attendance at school events:

  • Schedule conflicts (64%)

  • Events not directly connected to their student (45%)

  • Limited awareness of events (18%)

  • Transportation challenges (9%)

This information will help guide improvements to outreach and engagement efforts moving forward.

Areas Identified for Continued Growth

Respondents highlighted several priorities that would further strengthen Oiler Pride:

  • Expanding athletic programs and student support

  • Improving communication and event notification

  • Increasing opportunities for family engagement

  • Continuing investment in academic, arts, and extracurricular opportunities

East Alton–Wood River High School will use these results to inform future planning efforts and continue strengthening connections between families, students, and the school community.
