WOOD RIVER, IL – East Alton-Wood River High School (EAWR) has begun a major renovation of the Oilers’ softball field. Work is now underway on the new outfield warning track, marking the first phase of construction.
The renovation project includes significant upgrades to both the infield and outfield playing surfaces, the installation of a professional-grade warning track, new fencing, sod, and infield conditioning. These improvements are designed to enhance player safety, ensure long-term durability, and provide a high-quality playing environment for student-athletes.
The project is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2026 spring softball season, ensuring the Oilers will be ready to take the field on a fully renovated facility.
