**The following colleges will be on campus to talk to interested junior and senior students:

            University of Illinois, Springfield today

            Milliken on October 5th

            Columbia College on October 6

**Queen’s Dance guest forms are due back this Friday.

 

**The volleyball team is having the annual “Volley for a Cure” night on October 14th.  We will be selling pink t-shirts and students will be allowed to wear them to school on the day of the contest.  Shirts will cost $7.00 and all proceeds will go toward Cancer research. To order, please see one of the coaches (Ms. Scott, Ms. Boyd, or Mrs. Zipprich) for a form.  Forms will also be available in the main office or attendance center.  Return forms to Ms. Scott in E 117.  As always, we appreciate your support –Oiler fans are the best!

 

**Coronation and the homecoming dance are on Saturday, October 10th.  Coronation is at 7:30 in the Memorial Gym and the dance will follow in the East Building starting around 9 pm until 11pm.  Guest forms are due by October 2nd.  Dresses for the dance must be finger tip in length or longer.  Also no jeans are allowed.  Students must wear school clothes or better to the dance.  Coronation ceremony tickets can be bought in the attendance center for $4 each or $5 at the door.  It is NOT required to go to coronation to go to the dance.  Dance tickets are sold ONLY at the door the night of the dance for $5 each.  Dance tickets are separate from coronation tickets so if you want to go to both 2 tickets must be bought.

 

**Mrs Robinson emailed you about a haunted house that the Bethalto Jaycees is sponsoring and they are looking for volunteers.  Please be sure to read your email and contact the Jaycees if you are interested in volunteering.

 

**The WR Fire Department is looking for volunteers for this Saturday's Wood River Fish Fry at the Wood River Fire Department.  Shifts begin at 10 am and go in 2-hour increments until 8 pm.  Seniors will receive the first chance to fill the volunteer spots however if spots are still available on Wednesday morning any grade level can sign up.  Stop by the Attendance Center to sign up.

 

**There will be no student council this week due to STAR testing today and the Blood Drive on Thursday, however, we do need help preparing for homecoming games so if you would like to help, please go to Mrs. Timmins room after school today and tomorrow.

 

**There is still time to sign up for the blood drive. The drive will take place on Thursday and those who are signed up need to be sure and eat breakfast, drink plenty of water and bring some type of photo ID with you. 

 

**"Attention girls interested in playing basketball. There will be a girls basketball meeting tomorrow at 6 PM in memorial gym. If any girls are thinking about playing basketball please attend the meeting. Going to the meeting does not mean you have to play. Players will meet the new coach and go over important information about the season. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come to the meeting as well. Again, girls basketball meeting this Wednesday at 6pm in memorial gym."

 

**Rehearsals for “You Can’t Take it With You” begin today after school in the auditorium.

**Envirothon will meet tomorrow right after school in Mrs. Kamp’s room.  If you like to hike and learn about the world around you, come join us!
