**Students are reminded to check their email messages for Library book due date reminders.  Several books are due today.

**There will be a representative on campus from the following colleges. Interested junior and senior students should obtain a pass from their guidance counselor to attend:

McKendree University, today at 1pm

SIU Carbondale, tomorrow at 10:00am

**The Wood River Library is hosting a Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, Sept 15th from 10:30 am until noon. During this meeting the library will have attendees fill out their volunteer application, go over opportunities and the role of a volunteer.  If there are questions, please contact Holly Adams at holly@woodriverlibrary.org.  Hours will be given for attending the orientation.  If you can’t attend the orientation you may still volunteer at the library, but a volunteer application is required to be on file.

**Chess club will meet today during academic lab in Mr. Alexander’s room M221.  

**Faculty, Staff, & Students:  Ms. Scheffel is having a yard sale to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Walk at SIUE.    If you have anything lying around that you would like to donate to the yard sale, please bring it to Ms. Scheffel’s room M105 by Friday, September 14.  The yard sale is Saturday, September 15, from 8 am to 2 pm. Ms. Scheffel is also looking for people to help set up the yard sale after school on Friday, September 14 and to tear it down on Saturday September 15.  Please sign up in room M105 before Friday, September 14. Students can earn community service hours for helping set up and tear down.

**Mrs Robinson is needing volunteers for this Saturday's JFL game.  If you would like to help in the concession stand, take tickets, etc.,  please sign up in the Attendance Center located in the East Building. Shifts are from 9-11, 11-1, and 1-3:30.

**The Village of East Alton is doing a clean up at  Van Preter Park Wednesday, September 12th at 6 o’clock.  If any student would like to volunteer, please meet at Van Preter that night and ask for Robin Carlton who is leading the event.
