THE ALTON MOOSE is hosting Bikers Behind the Badges this Saturday and is looking for volunteers.  Students can volunteer anytime between 9 am and 11 pm and you don't need to stay the whole day so you can pick and choose times.  Mrs Robinson emailed out additional information about the event if you are interested.

GUEST forms for the Queen's Dance are available in the Attendance Center.  All non-EAWR students will be required to turn in a form for the dance by this Friday to the Attendance Center.  Guest refers to anyone who doesn’t go to our school. Your guest may not be older than 21, they also may not be in middle school.  Your guest must either be in high school or another educational program, unless they have already graduated.

EAWR's Guidance Department is hosting a College Panel Night this Wednesday. The event will be held in the Library and will be from 6:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m.  The following colleges have been invited: Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, Lewis and Clark Community College, Southeast Missouri State University, McKendree University and University of Missouri St. Louis.  Please reserve a seat with Mrs. Woodman in Guidance.

JUNIOR and SENIOR students interested in meeting with any of these representatives may obtain a pass from their guidance counselor.

ATTENTION all students, faculty and staff. This Wednesday is National See You at the Pole Day.  All are welcome to gather at the flagpole outside of the gym (near the the student parking lot) at 7:40 am for a moment of fellowship.  There will be also be free giveaways for students!

JUNIORS, sophomores and freshmen--STAR math testing will be administered today during 3rd hour and academic lab.  STAR reading test will be administered tomorrow during 3rd hour and academic lab. Students need to have their fully charged Chromebook with them for testing. Students may use scratch paper during the test.  Seniors will stay in their 3rd hour for academic lab. There will be no meetings and students may not leave their 3rd hour including seniors.

JUNIORS:  If you received a notice from Mrs. Woodman about the East Alton Rotary Scholarship and missed the meeting, please stop by her office as soon as possible.  Scholarship applications are due this Thursday.

JUNIORS and Seniors:  The City of Wood River is hosting a community event this Saturday  in downtown Wood River. They need help with running booths and other tasks. They are needing 5-6 volunteers from 10:30 am until 4 pm.  If you volunteer you will need to meet at Riverbend Bounce 145 E Ferguson in downtown Wood River next to the post office. Juniors and seniors interested please sign up in the Attendance Center.

ANYONE interested in walking at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville for the Alzheimer's Association, please sign up with Ms. Scheffel in Room M105. The walk will be tomorrow, from 8 AM-NOON.

MRS ROBINSON is needing volunteers for tomorrow’s JFL game.  If you would like to help in the concession stand, take tickets, etc., please sign up in the Attendance Center located in the East Building. Shifts are from 9-11, 11-1, and 1-3:30.

THERE will be a free tailgate party before the home football game tonight from 6:00-6:40 pm.  The theme for the game is Pink Night. There will be pink color run powder available at the tailgate if you want to wear a white shirt.

MRS. VAMBAKETES is looking for a student who has computer knowledge in downloading modes and creating servers for games like Minecraft and GTA. Earn community service hours while having fun! If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Vambaketes in the Guidance Office.

BIG SISTERS applications are due today to Mrs. Miller or Mrs. Parmentier.  No late applications will be accepted.

During this meeting the library will have attendees fill out their volunteer application, go over opportunities and the role of a volunteer.  If there are questions, please contact Holly Adams at holly@woodriverlibrary.org.  Hours will be given for attending the orientation.  If you can’t attend the orientation you may still volunteer at the library, but a volunteer application is required to be on file.

**Faculty, Staff, & Students:  Ms. Scheffel is having a yard sale to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Walk at SIUE.    If you have anything lying around that you would like to donate to the yard sale, please bring it to Ms. Scheffel’s room M105 by this Friday.  The yard sale is Saturday, September 15, from 8 am to 2 pm. Ms. Scheffel is also looking for people to help set up the yard sale after school this Friday and to tear it down on Saturday.  Please sign up in room M105 before Friday. Students can earn community service hours for helping set up and tear down.

**The 1st coronation assembly is Friday and the schedule can be found in your 18-19 Schedules Folder.  Voting will be online so it is important that all sophomores, juniors, and seniors have their chromebook to access the link through his/her EAWR account that will be emailed after the assembly to vote.  

**Junior and Senior girls with at least a 2.25 GPA- Applications for Big Sisters, a community service group,  are available to pick up today from Mrs. Parmentier's room M205 or Mrs. Miller's room E224. Completed applications must be turned in to Mrs. Parmentier or Mrs. Miller by Friday September 21st at 2:35pm.  NO late applications will be accepted.

**Seniors:  Please be looking for an email from Mrs. Robinson that has attached the first updated scholarship list for this year.  If you have any questions, regarding these scholarships, please see Mrs. Woodman in Guidance.

**The Cheerleaders will be sponsoring the Queen’s Dance following Coronation on Saturday, October 6th and the cost is $5 per person and tickets are only sold at the door.  Please be sure to follow the handbook rules for dress code—no jeans and dresses/skirts must be at least finger tip in length. Please remember that this is a school event and students must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner when dancing.

**There is no parking on the bus circle.  Busses are having trouble getting through so if you are parked there you will take the risk of being towed.  Again, do not park in the bus circle after school or we may have to have your car towed at your expense.

**The Village of East Alton is sponsoring their annual Soapbox Derby this Saturday,  from 8 am-4 pm. They are need volunteers to help with the derby and do the set up in the morning.  If you would like to volunteer please stop by the Attendance Center to sign up. Volunteers will meet at the Tropical Snow next to East Alton Shop N Save.  Volunteers also need to wear an Oiler t-shirt to the event. Again the sign up to volunteer is in the Attendance Center.
