  • Marissa Morrison and Ally Shook Sign with Lindenwood Marissa Morrison and Allison Shook both signed Letters of Intent to continue their athletic participation on the collegiate level at Lindenwood University-Belleville. Marissa has signed to play Soccer next year; whereas Ally signed to be on the Cheerleading squad!They were joined on-stage by their parents and coaches from Lindenwood and EAWR.EAWR is very proud of these students and we wish them the best as Lynx!  Marissa and Ally are congratulated by Asst.   • Haley Shewmake Signs with Wabash College Congrats to Haley Shewmake who, last week signed with Wabash College to play college softball! Haley, an infielder, is a four-year starter on the Oiler Softball squad. She will join fellow senior Carly Campbell in Mt. Carmel, Illinois to continue their studies and their softball careers.   • Oilers Advance Three to State Wrestling! Congrats to Drew Sobol (106) and Zac Blasioli (132) for winning the Vandalia Sectional crown on Saturday (2/11/17) and advancing to the Assembly Hall (State Farm Center) next weekend for the IHSA State Wrestling Finals! Congrats also to Jon Wright (285) for also qualifying for the IHSA State Finals! Congrats to Coach Sobol and Asst. Coach Huebner, as well. Go Oiler Wrestling!

  • IPA Student Breakfast On Wed., April 19, 2017, two accomplished EAWR Seniors, Mackenzie Munn and Brenden Allen, were honored by the Illinois Principals Association-Southwestern Division, along with many other students selected by their principals from schools all over the Metro-East. The Student Recognition Breakfast was held at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville.Students were selected for their academic success and contributions to their school and activities. Elementary, junior high, and high school students were all recognized at the breakfast. The keynote address was given by Dr. Kelly Stewart, former teacher and administrator, and currently an Asst. Professor at McKendree University. Congrats to Brenden and Mackenzie!

  • Silver Medallion Awards Last night (April 20, 2017), our top 8% of the Class of 2017 was honored at the annual Silver Medallion Awards Dinner, held at Lewis & Clark College.   • EAWR Trebuchet Team Takes 3rd! On Friday last week the annual Trebuchet Tournament put on by Lewis and Clark Community College took place.  We had five teams representing the school.  All of the teams performed well with one team finishing in 3rd place.  That team was comprised of the following:Brenden AllenXavier CollmanJennifer HalsteadChase WallendorfZach WomackJoey ZiglerThey were the Meme Team and they worked very well as a group.Some candid photos of the event can be accessed here (off-school Website)

  • Sr. Olympiad Takes First Place! In March the Madison County ROE welcomed more than 200 students to the Junior and Senior Olympiads. Teams of four students competed in a variety of projects and activities using their problem-solving skills while using minimal resources. EAWR Team 2 (pictured below) won 1st Place against Edwardsville and Granite City and others. Congrats to Haley Shewmake, Brendan Allen, Drew Sobol, and Carly Campbell and to Mrs. Parmentier, Sponsor for the first place finish!

  • County School Facilities Sales Tax Information Dear EAWR Parents and Community Members:In just a couple of weeks (Tuesday, April 4, 2017), the voters of Madison County will be asked to approve a proposal to provide funding to all county school districts through a 1% sales tax increase. The revenue from this sales tax can only be used to build or renovate school facilities or to make payments on existing bond debt. By Illinois law, this sales tax revenue cannot be used to pay  salaries, benefits, supplies or other operating expenses.  The Board has plans to use the sales tax revenue to renovate various areas of the high school campus, which would be cost-prohibitive without this revenue and to provide some property tax relief to ...
